Portable or quiet?

Carry it, or keep it quiet.

Same power, different case. Mini-Mites save about 7 to 9 lb on every carry. Q models add a noise-reduction case for shops and occupied homes.

HVLP or airless?

Fine finish, or big walls?

Both are great sprayers. They're made for different jobs.

Fuji HVLP

For a fine finish

  • Cabinets, doors, furniture, trim and millwork
  • Soft spray and little overspray, so less masking and waste
  • Lacquers, stains, urethanes and cabinet enamels
  • Easy to clean and quick to switch colours

Airless

For big surfaces

  • Walls, ceilings, exteriors and fences
  • Sprays thick latex fast, often unthinned
  • More overspray, so more masking
  • See our airless paint sprayers

FAQ

Fuji Spray questions, answered.

Which Fuji spray system should I buy?

For hobby and weekend projects, the Semi-PRO 2. For a portable pro system, the Mini-Mite 5 Platinum. For shop use, the Q5 Platinum. For thick coatings and the most control, the D6.

What do the stages and psi numbers mean?

More stages build more air pressure, so thicker coatings atomize with less thinning. Fuji lists the Semi-PRO 2 at 5 psi, the Mini-Mite 3 at 6.5 psi, the Q4 and Mini-Mite 4 at 9 psi, the Q5 and Mini-Mite 5 at 9.5 psi, and the D6 at up to 11.5 psi.

Mini-Mite or Q series: what's the difference?

Noise and weight. Each Mini-Mite matches its Q model in stages and pressure. The Mini-Mite weighs 14.56 to 15.22 lb and is built to carry from job to job. The Q4 and Q5 weigh 22.73 and 24.06 lb but run much quieter, at 61 to 63 dBA at 15 ft.

Which gun should I choose: T70, T75G or G-XPC?

The T70 has a 1 qt bottom-feed cup for bigger jobs. The T75G has a 600cc gravity cup and suits most cabinet and furniture work. The G-XPC has a 400cc cup that swivels, for tight spots and small parts.

Which air cap size do I need?

Match the cap to the coating: 0.8 to 1.0 mm for dyes, shellac and stain, 1.3 mm for clear lacquer, varnish and polyurethane, 1.5 to 1.8 mm for pigmented lacquer and oil paint, and 2.0 mm for waterborne paint and primer. T-Series guns take 5100 caps, M-Model guns take 7020 caps, and XPC guns take 8050 caps.

Can a Fuji spray latex and waterborne paint?

Yes. Fuji systems spray waterborne and solvent-based coatings, including stains, lacquers, enamels and urethanes. Check viscosity with the Ford cup that comes with the system, thin only as the coating maker allows, and test on scrap first. More stages mean less thinning.

What warranty does Fuji give?

Fuji lists 2 years on parts and labour for its Platinum and DIY-PRO systems, and 2 + 1 years for the D6. Coverage can differ by product, so check the product page or ask our team.

Can I use a Fuji gun with my air compressor?

Not a turbine gun, but Fuji makes HVLP guns that run off a compressor. See our compressor spray guns, and the air caps and parts that fit them.

Can I buy just the turbine?

Yes. We carry the Mini-Mite Platinum and Q Platinum turbines on their own, plus motors and cords. See HVLP turbines & turbine parts.

Where can I buy Fuji Spray near Toronto?

At The Paint People, a family-run paint and spray equipment dealer in Mississauga since 1997. Shop online, or visit our Rockwood Village spray centre at 1292 Eglinton Ave. E for sprayer sales, rentals and repairs.
