The Fuji Q4 Platinum is a quiet 4-stage HVLP spray system for fine finishing. Its turbine builds about 9 psi for lacquer, stain, polyurethane and most waterborne cabinet coatings, and Fuji's patented noise-reduction case keeps it at 61 dBA from 15 ft, the quietest rating in Fuji's line-up. It's made for cabinet shops, furniture makers and refinishers who work near neighbours, co-workers or homeowners. Choose the T75G gravity gun, the T70 bottom-feed gun or the G-XPC side-mount gun.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Quiet Q Platinum case: 61 dBA at 15 ft and 59 dBA at 20 ft. Fuji puts a standard turbine at 79 dBA from 15 ft.
  • 4-stage turbine, about 9 psi: enough pressure for most cabinet and trim coatings with little thinning.
  • Heat Dissipation Chamber: moves heat out of the turbine for cooler running and longer motor life.
  • Quick-change friction-fit filter in a rugged all-metal case.
  • Non-bleed gun with stainless steel fluid passages and Fuji's side-mounted fan pattern control.
  • 24-month Fuji limited warranty for the original buyer.

Applications & Recommended Uses

Use the Q4 Platinum on kitchen cabinets, vanities, interior doors, trim, mouldings, millwork and furniture, especially in occupied homes and small shops. It sprays waterborne and solvent-based lacquers, stains, sanding sealers, varnishes, polyurethanes and cabinet enamels. For walls, ceilings and exteriors, an airless paint sprayer is faster. Need more pressure? See the Q5 Platinum.

Noise reduction

The quietest Fuji you can buy.

A standard turbine sounds like a loud shop vac. Fuji's Q series uses an all-metal case with computer-designed air paths that cut the direct sound paths, without wrapping the motor in soundproofing that traps heat.

Painting walls or a whole house?

HVLP gives you control and little overspray, but it isn't fast on big surfaces. For walls, ceilings and exteriors, an airless paint sprayer is the better tool. For cabinets, pair your Q4 with Envirolak waterborne lacquer, which we tint and match in store.

FAQ

Q4 Platinum questions, answered.

How quiet is the Q4 Platinum?

Fuji lists it at 61 dBA at 15 ft and 59 dBA at 20 ft, the lowest of any system in its catalogue. Fuji puts a standard turbine at 79 dBA from 15 ft, and normal conversation at about 60 dBA.

Q4 or Q5 Platinum: which should I buy?

The Q5 Platinum adds a fifth stage (about 9.5 psi versus 9 psi) and Fuji's 5 for 5 bonus kit. Choose the Q5 if you spray a lot of thick cabinet enamels and primers. For lacquer, stain, poly and most waterborne coatings, the Q4 has plenty of pressure and is a little quieter.

Q4 or Mini-Mite 4?

Both have a 4-stage, 9 psi turbine and the same gun choices. The Mini-Mite 4 weighs 15 lb and is built to carry. The Q4 weighs 22.73 lb and is much quieter. Choose the Q4 for a shop or occupied homes.

Which gun should I choose: T75G, T70 or G-XPC?

The T75G (600 mL gravity cup) suits most cabinet and furniture work. The T70 (1 L bottom-feed cup) means fewer refills on bigger jobs. The G-XPC (400 mL side-mount cup) gets into tight spots and small parts.

Can it spray waterborne paint and primer?

Yes. It sprays waterborne and solvent-based coatings, including lacquer, stain, polyurethane and cabinet enamel. Check viscosity with the #4 Ford cup and thin only as the coating maker allows. For waterborne paint and primer, Fuji recommends a 2.0 mm air cap, sold separately as a 5100 air cap for T-Series guns.

What filter does it use?

The Q4 uses a single #5029 filter, the same one as the Q3 and Q5. Check it often and replace it when dirty to protect the motor.

What warranty does it have?

Fuji Spray gives the original buyer a 24-month limited warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. See Fuji's warranty terms. Our Rockwood Village spray centre in Mississauga also services and repairs sprayers.
