FAQ

Samples and fan decks, answered.

Are Benjamin Moore colour swatches free?

Yes, the swatches are free. You just pay shipping, or add them to a paint order. Pick your colours on our free swatch page.

How big is a tester sample?

Each tester is 240 mL (8 oz) of real Benjamin Moore paint, tinted to the colour you choose. That's enough for a couple of large test patches.

Can I get a sample in any colour?

Yes. Testers can be tinted to any Benjamin Moore colour, including Colour Stories. Have a colour from another brand? We can match it.

Can I return a colour sample?

Testers are tinted to order, so they're final sale. That's why we suggest narrowing it down with free swatches first.

Which fan deck should I buy?

Colour Preview is the broadest, with 1,232 colours in gradations. Classics covers Benjamin Moore's Classic colours. Collections includes Off Whites, Historical and Affinity. The Off White Collection is for choosing whites, and Aura Colour Stories holds 240 colours made in Aura. The Core Set bundles Classics, Collections and Colour Preview.

How should I test a paint colour?

Paint two coats on a patch at least the size of a sheet of paper, or on a poster board you can move around. Look at it in the morning, afternoon and at night, next to your trim, floor and furniture, before you buy.

Are the colours on my screen accurate?

No screen shows paint colour exactly. Use our swatches as a guide, then confirm with a swatch or a tester in your own light.

Can you help me choose colours?

Yes. Our Custom Palette Pyramid gives you a palette made for your home, or book a Virtual Colour Consultation to talk it through live.
