Ramuc Pool Paint FAQ

1Which Ramuc pool paint is best?

It depends on your existing coating. For bare or rough concrete, Hi-Build Epoxy lasts longest. To recoat epoxy, use EP Epoxy or Hi-Build. To recoat rubber-based paint, use A-2. For acrylic, or the fastest turnaround, use DS Acrylic.

2How long does Ramuc pool paint last?

Hi-Build Epoxy lasts up to 8 years, EP Epoxy 3–4 years, A-2 synthetic rubber up to 4 years, and DS acrylic up to 2 years.

3Can I switch from rubber or acrylic pool paint to epoxy?

Only after the old coating is fully removed down to the bare surface. Epoxy won't bond over rubber-based or acrylic paint.

4Which Ramuc paints are best for saltwater pools?

Ramuc recommends its epoxies, EP and Hi-Build, for saltwater pools.

5How soon can I fill the pool after painting?

DS acrylic needs 3 dry days. Outdoor pools painted with epoxy or A-2 need 5–7 dry days. Indoor pools need longer.

6Do I need to prep before painting?

Yes. Poor prep is the most common cause of peeling. Ramuc Clean & Prep cleans, degreases and etches in one step.
