The Fuji Hobby-PRO 2 (2250) is an easy-to-use HVLP spray system for furniture, doors, trim and cabinets. It pairs Fuji's 2-stage, 5 psi DIY-PRO turbine in a black metal case with a non-bleed black M-Model 7003 bottom-feed gun and a 1 qt aluminum pressurized cup. A 1.8 mm air cap comes installed, so it's set up for pigmented and waterborne paints, with a soft, even spray and very little overspray.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 2-stage DIY-PRO turbine, about 5 psi in a metal case with a handy gun holder.
  • Non-bleed M-Model 7003 gun: air flows only when you pull the trigger, with stainless steel needle and nozzle.

  • 1 qt aluminum pressurized cup for fewer refills on doors and bigger pieces.
  • Rear fan pattern control and air control valve to set the pattern and cut overspray and bounce-back.
  • Bonus spare filters and cup parts kit in the box.

Applications & Recommended Uses

Use the Hobby-PRO 2 for furniture makeovers, interior doors, trim, mouldings, cabinets and craft projects. It sprays waterborne and solvent-based paints, primers, stains, lacquers and polyurethanes, thinned as needed. For walls, ceilings and exteriors, an airless paint sprayer is faster. Spraying often or using thicker coatings? Step up to the Mini-Mite 3 Platinum.

Turbine power

Where the Hobby-PRO 2 fits.

Two stages are plenty for stains, lacquers, polyurethanes and thinned paints. Thicker coatings atomize more easily with more stages.

Which entry-level Fuji?

Fuji's DIY-PRO systems share the same 2-stage turbine. The difference is the gun, cup and installed air cap, and the Mini-Mite 3 is the first step up.

Painting walls or a whole house?

HVLP gives you control and little overspray, but it isn't fast on big surfaces. For walls, ceilings and exteriors, an airless paint sprayer is the better tool. For cabinets, pair your Hobby-PRO 2 with Envirolak waterborne lacquer, which we tint and match in store.

FAQ

Hobby-PRO 2 questions, answered.

Hobby-PRO 2 or Semi-PRO 2: what's the difference?

They share the same 2-stage turbine and specs. The Hobby-PRO 2 has a black turbine and the black 7003 M-Model gun with a 1.8 mm air cap installed, set up for paints. The Semi-PRO 2 is blue with a 1.3 mm cap for clears and stains. Either takes any 7020 cap.

Hobby-PRO 2 or Mini-Mite 3?

The Mini-Mite 3 Platinum steps up to 3 stages and 6.5 psi, Fuji's Platinum build and T-Series guns. Choose it if you spray often or use thicker coatings. For weekend projects, the Hobby-PRO 2 does the job.

Can it spray latex paint?

Yes, usually thinned. The 1.8 mm cap that comes installed suits pigmented and waterborne paints, but a 2-stage turbine still works best with thinner coatings. Check viscosity with the #4 Ford cup, thin only as the paint maker allows, and test on cardboard first.

Which air cap should I use?

The 1.8 mm cap installed suits pigmented and waterborne paints. Use 1.3 mm for clear lacquer, varnish and polyurethane, and a smaller cap for dyes and stains. M-Model guns take 7020 caps.

What filter does it use?

Dual #4009-2 filters. A spare set comes in the box. Check them often and replace them when dirty to protect the motor.

Can I buy just the turbine?

Yes. The Hobby-PRO 2 turbine (1103C) is sold on its own, and so is the 7003 gun.

What warranty does it have?

Fuji Spray gives the original buyer a 24-month limited warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. See Fuji's warranty terms. Our Rockwood Village spray centre in Mississauga also services and repairs sprayers.
