How to Use

  1. Check your air. Your compressor and lines need to deliver 13.8 cfm at 36 psi at the gun. Use clean, dry air.
  2. Fit the regulator. Fit the included regulator gauge at the 1/4" air inlet so you can read pressure at the gun.
  3. Pick your cap. Use the installed cap to start. Swap to the second cap in the box for thinner or heavier coatings.
  4. Fill the cup. Strain the coating into the 600cc gravity cup or the 1 qt siphon cup.
  5. Test the pattern. Spray a test panel. Adjust the side-mounted fan control and the fluid knob until the pattern is even.
  6. Clean right away. Flush the gun with the right cleaner for your waterborne or solvent-borne coating.

Before you buy

The MPX-30 runs on compressed air, not a turbine.

FAQ

MPX-30 gun questions, answered.

What size compressor do I need?

Fuji recommends 13.8 cfm at 36 psi at the gun inlet. Check your compressor's rated cfm at that pressure, not just its tank size. Not sure? Tell us your compressor and we'll check.

Gravity or siphon?

Gravity feed has the cup on top, uses every drop and suits smaller jobs and quick colour changes. Siphon feed hangs a 1 qt cup below the gun, so you can spray more between refills. Both have the same air use and weight. Fuji also lists the siphon version for its 5466 2 qt and 5470 2.5 gallon pressure pots.

Which air caps come with it?

The gravity version comes with a 1.4 mm cap installed plus a 1.3 mm set. The siphon version comes with a 1.7 mm cap installed plus a 1.4 mm set. MPX-30 air cap sets from 1.0 to 2.0 mm are sold separately.

What does mid-pressure mean?

The MPX-30 is a mid-pressure gun, also called reduced pressure (RP). Fuji recommends 36 psi at the inlet, higher than an HVLP gun, with optimized air passages for more atomizing air on high-solid coatings.

What coatings can it spray?

Fuji lists it for waterborne and solvent-borne high-solid clear coat, and its 100% stainless steel fluid passages handle waterborne and solvent-based coatings. Not sure about yours? Ask us first.

Is there a rebuild kit?

Yes. The 6382 MPX-30 rebuild kit has the seals and wear parts to service the gun. A spare 1 qt siphon cup and a 3 oz gravity cup for touch-ups are also available.

What warranty does it have?

Fuji Spray gives the original buyer a 24-month limited warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. See Fuji's warranty terms, or contact us with questions.

Can you service it for me?

Yes, once it's out of warranty. Our Rockwood Village spray centre in Mississauga repairs spray guns. Contact us to book it in. Still under Fuji's 24-month warranty? Contact Fuji Spray first, because repairs by anyone other than Fuji or its authorized agent void the warranty.
