This is an open-box (A+) Fuji Q5 Platinum. The box has been opened, and it may be a customer return, but the system has never been used. It's inspected to A+ condition, complete with every part a new Q5 Platinum comes with, and carries the full Fuji manufacturer's warranty. The 5 for 5 bonus kit is included, and it has the same 35-day returns as a new system. Stock is limited. A new Q5 Platinum is also available.

What Open Box (A+) Means

  • Opened, never used: The box has been opened, and it may be a customer return, but the system has never been sprayed.
  • Inspected A+: Each unit is inspected to A+ condition and is complete, with every part a new system comes with.
  • Full Fuji warranty: 24 months limited from Fuji Spray, the same as a new Q5 Platinum.
  • 5 for 5 bonus kit included: Fuji's bonus accessories come with it, just like a new Q5 Platinum.
  • 35-day returns: The same 35-day returns as a new system.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 5-stage turbine, about 9.5 psi: more pressure than 3- and 4-stage systems, so heavier coatings atomize with less thinning.
  • Quiet Q Platinum case: 63 dBA at 15 ft and 60 dBA at 20 ft, so it can run all day in a shop or an occupied home.
  • Variable speed control dial: turn the pressure down for thin stains and up for thicker coatings, and cut bounce-back.
  • Heat Dissipation Chamber: moves heat out of the turbine for cooler running and longer motor life.
  • Non-bleed gun with stainless steel fluid passages and Fuji's side-mounted fan pattern control.
  • 5 for 5 bonus kit included: whip hose, 19-piece cleaning kit, extra filters, wet film gauge and booklet.
  • 24-month Fuji limited warranty for the original buyer.

Applications & Recommended Uses

Use the Q5 Platinum on kitchen cabinets, vanities, interior doors, trim, mouldings, millwork and furniture. It sprays waterborne and solvent-based lacquers, stains, sanding sealers, varnishes, polyurethanes, cabinet enamels and primers. For walls, ceilings and exteriors, an airless paint sprayer is faster. Need a smaller, lighter turbine to carry between jobs? See the Mini-Mite 5 Platinum, which shares the Q5's 5-stage, 9.5 psi motor.

What it's for

Made for fine finishing.

  • Kitchen cabinets, vanities and built-ins
  • Interior doors, trim, mouldings and millwork
  • Furniture refinishing and new furniture
  • Shop and production finishing, where a quiet turbine matters
  • Waterborne and solvent-based coatings

Painting walls or a whole house?

HVLP gives you control and little overspray, but it isn't fast on big surfaces. For walls, ceilings and exteriors, an airless paint sprayer is the better tool. For cabinets, pair your Q5 with Envirolak waterborne lacquer, which we tint and match in store.

FAQ

Q5 Platinum questions, answered.

What does open box (A+) mean?

The box has been opened, and the unit may be a customer return, but it has never been used. It's inspected to A+ condition and complete, with every part a new Q5 Platinum comes with.

Does an open-box unit have the full warranty?

Yes. It carries the full Fuji manufacturer's warranty: 24 months limited from Fuji Spray, the same as a new Q5 Platinum.

Is the bonus kit included?

Yes. The 5 for 5 bonus kit comes with every open-box Q5 Platinum, the same as a new system.

Can I return an open-box unit?

Yes. Open-box units have the same 35-day returns as new. See our refund policy for details.

Q5 Platinum or Mini-Mite 5: which should I buy?

Both have a 5-stage, 9.5 psi turbine and the same gun choices. The Mini-Mite 5 weighs 15.22 lb and is built to carry from job to job. The Q5 weighs 24.06 lb but runs at 63 dBA at 15 ft. Choose the Q5 if it stays in a shop or you spray in occupied homes.

What's the difference between the Q5 and Q4?

The Q5 adds a fifth stage: about 9.5 psi versus 9 psi on the Q4 Platinum. That extra pressure helps with thicker coatings like cabinet enamels and primers. Both use the same quiet case and the same three guns.

Which gun should I choose: T75G, T70 or G-XPC?

The T75G (600 mL gravity cup) suits most cabinet and furniture work. The T70 (1 L bottom-feed cup) means fewer refills on bigger jobs. The G-XPC (400 mL side-mount cup) gets into tight spots and small parts.

Can the Q5 spray waterborne paint and primer?

Yes. It sprays waterborne and solvent-based coatings, including lacquer, stain, polyurethane and cabinet enamel. Check viscosity with the #4 Ford cup and thin only as the coating maker allows. For waterborne paint and primer, Fuji recommends a 2.0 mm air cap, sold separately as a 5100 air cap for T-Series guns.

Save on a Q5 Platinum that's never been used.

Open-box stock is limited. If the gun you want is sold out, the new Q5 Platinum comes with the same 5 for 5 bonus kit.
