Graco LineLazer RAC 5 SwitchTip, LL5 Line Striping Tips

The Graco LineLazer RAC 5 SwitchTip is the replacement spray tip for LineLazer line striping systems. Graco says it makes sharp lines with no fuzzy edges or thin spots. The yellow-handled tip reverses to clear clogs, and each size is a separate option below.

Key Features

  • Reverse-A-Clean: turn the tip handle to clear a clog without removing it.
  • Even lines: Graco says paint thickness stays consistent from edge to edge, with less overspray.
  • Traffic paint: sprays materials from heavy water-base to thin alkyd traffic paint.

Where to Use It

Parking lots, roads, warehouse floors, crosswalks and athletic fields. Graco lists LL5 tips for LineLazer striping systems. The 319 page names the LineLazer V 3900 and V 5900. Not for general painting guns. Graco lists standard RAC tips for those.

Sizes

Choose from 37 tip numbers, from 213 to 643. The first digit sets the fan angle and the last two digits set the orifice in thousandths of an inch. For example, 319 is a 30° fan with a 0.019 in. orifice.

  • 2xx: 20° fan, 2 to 4 in. line
  • 3xx: 30° fan, 4 to 6 in. line
  • 4xx: 40° fan, 4 to 8 in. line
  • 6xx: 60° fan, 8 to 12 in. line

LL5 vs Standard RAC 5 Tips

Standard RAC 5 SwitchTips (such as the 286215) are for general airless guns and use the RAC 5 HandTite guard. LL5 tips are the striping versions. If you are unsure which your striper takes, contact us.

Setup & Use
  1. Relieve pressure using the procedure in your striper manual, and engage the trigger lock.
  2. Choose the tip number that matches your line width and paint.
  3. Fit the tip in your striper's gun and guard as your manual shows. Do not spray without the guard.
  4. Spray a test line and check the edges. Change the tip number if the line is too wide, too narrow or too heavy.
  5. To clear a clog, relieve pressure, turn the tip to the reverse position, trigger at a waste area, then turn it back.
  6. Flush the striper and tip after each job.
FAQ
1How do I read the tip number?

The first digit sets the fan angle (2 = 20°, 3 = 30°, 4 = 40°, 6 = 60°). The last two digits are the orifice in thousandths of an inch. So 319 is a 30° fan with a 0.019 in. orifice.

2Which size makes a 4 in. line?

Graco lists 2xx tips for 2 to 4 in. lines and 3xx tips for 4 to 6 in. lines. Check the tip chart in your striper manual for your paint and speed.

3Will it fit my striper?

Graco lists LL5 tips for LineLazer striping systems, and names the V 3900 and V 5900 on the 319 page. Contact us with your model if you are not sure.

4What is the difference between the 2xx, 3xx, 4xx and 6xx tips?

A higher first digit gives a wider fan and a wider line. A larger orifice passes more paint, which suits thicker coatings and faster travel. Start from your manual's recommendation.

5How do I clear a clog?

Relieve pressure, turn the handle to the reverse position, trigger into a waste area, then turn it back to spray. This is the Reverse-A-Clean feature.

6When should I replace the tip?

Replace it when the line gets wider, uneven or heavy in the middle even after cleaning. Graco does not publish a tip life, because it depends on the paint and how much you spray.

7When can I stripe in Canada?

Follow your paint's data sheet for minimum surface and air temperature, and spray on dry pavement. In most of Canada that means late spring to early fall.
