How much do I need?
Enter your room size. We'll work out the cans, using 400 sq ft per 3.79 L, the low end of Benjamin Moore's coverage so you don't run short.
Cabinets, backsplash and tile cover a lot of wall in kitchens and bathrooms, so you may need less. A small bathroom is often just one 3.79 L can for two coats. Doors count as 20 sq ft and windows as 15 sq ft.

How to apply
Get a pro finish.
- Clean first. Wash off grease, soap residue and any mildew, then let the walls dry. Paint won't stick to a greasy kitchen wall.
- Repair and dull. Scrape loose paint, sand edges smooth, dull glossy areas and wipe off the dust.
- Prime only where needed. It's self-priming on drywall, plaster and wood. Use Fresh Start primer on water, smoke or grease stains and bleeding woods, and a metal primer on bare metal.
- Cut in, then roll and keep a wet edge.
- Second coat after 4 hours.
- Wait 2 weeks before washing, and keep the room ventilated while it cures.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Is Kitchen & Bath paint good for bathrooms?
Yes. It's formulated for kitchens and bathrooms, with anti-microbial additives that inhibit mould and mildew growth on the paint film, even under humid conditions. Run the bathroom fan when you shower for the best results.
What does a pearl finish look like?
Pearl is a soft, low sheen (15–25 @ 60°), similar to satin. It has more sheen than eggshell, so it's easier to wipe clean, but it isn't as shiny as semi-gloss.
Can I use it on a bathroom ceiling?
Yes. Its mildew-resistant film suits bathroom ceilings, where a lot of the steam collects. Tick "Paint the ceiling too" in the calculator.
Kitchen & Bath or Aura Bath & Spa?
Both resist mildew in humid rooms. Kitchen & Bath has a pearl sheen that wipes clean easily, which suits kitchens and busy family bathrooms. Aura Bath & Spa is a premium matte finish for bathrooms where you want a flat, low-glare look.
Do I need a primer?
Usually not. It's self-priming on drywall, plaster, wood and smooth concrete. Use two coats on bare surfaces. For water, smoke or grease stains, bleeding woods or very slick surfaces, prime with Fresh Start first.
How long does it take to dry?
It's dry to the touch in about 1 hour and ready for a second coat in 4 hours. Wait 2 weeks before washing the walls. Cool, humid air slows drying, so keep the room ventilated.
How much paint do I need?
A 3.79 L can covers 400–450 sq ft per coat. A 5 × 8 ft bathroom with 8 ft ceilings has about 190 sq ft of wall after the door, so two coats take about one 3.79 L can. Use the paint calculator above for your room.
Can I paint kitchen cabinets with it?
It's made for walls and ceilings. For cabinets, a hard-wearing enamel like Benjamin Moore Advance gives a smoother, tougher finish. Ask us and we'll set you up.
Can I get it in any colour?
Yes, any Benjamin Moore colour except Color Stories (CSP), and we can match other brands too. Tinted paint is made to order, so it's final sale.
What sizes does it come in? Do you ship?
946 mL and 3.79 L. We ship across Canada, free on most orders over $249, or pick up free at our Rockwood Village store, 1292 Eglinton Ave. E, Mississauga.
